Indie VS. Traditional Publishing

Here at The Ink Puddle, we try and review and discuss independently as well as traditionally published novels. But today we want to know, do you guys have a preference?

Where do you stand on authors being able to publish their own work with the evolution of things like the e-reader? How often do you read indie published work versus traditional? What convinces you that you want to read the books that you read?
Is it the cover image? The reviews? The personality of the author? The fact that it is or could be a movie? Or something else entirely?

What do you believe are the pros and cons of indie writing?
