Mainstream Monday: The Mortal Instruments

For all of you TMI (The Mortal Instruments) fans out there, here’s some important news regarding the movie.  ABC Family’s hit series Pretty Little Liars screen writer, Marlene King, who was also involved in the movie Now and Then and Just My Luck, will be writing the screen play for the movie adaptation of City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.  If you didn’t know already, Lily Collins has been casted to play the heroine, Clary Fray and Jamie Campbell Bower to play Jace.  It is also rumored that Sony is now involved with the production for the series that is said to be the next Harry Potter/ Twilight now that they are both coming to an end.  We’ll see!

Have you guys read the series? We'll have our review posted later this week on City of Bones!  If you have read them are you guys excited about the casting/movie?  Let us know!!

I ADORE this series, definitely a favorite of mine. I really like Lily as Clary, I think she fits the picture in my head, but I'm not a huge fan of Jamie. I'm sure he'll do a great job, but he's just not quite as irresistibly attractive as the Jace I picture. So excited to see what the movie people do with this book!

Hey Jenny!
I'm pretty pumped to see where they take the movie too. The Mortal Instruments weren't my favorite series in the world, but I definitely enjoyed them.
Lily as Clary is great, as for Jamie, no I think I they could have picked someone way cuter too... haha. Honestly, I went through this morning to try and find pictures to go with M's post and was having a really hard time because if you look him up he's really not that attractive... (Sorry, just my personal opinion!)

Yea I agree with both of you about the casting... Maybe if you can pump up the swagger and fix that hair a little he'll be much more Jace-y.

I LOVE this series and can't wait to see the film adaptation. Lily looks like a great pick for Clary, and Jaime even looks like a good Jace. It should be interesting to see if they can pull of the chemistry together! :)
